In March, temperatures start to rise. In fact, Cannes rarely experiences a cold climate in the spring, with temperatures averaging a very pleasant 16°C / 68°F. Although Cannes doesn't get a lot of rainy weather during the year, visitors should come prepared for the odd heavy shower at this time of year.

Sunscreen is essential for visitors during the summer months, with a hot climate and long periods of constant sunny weather. Boasting as many as 12 hours of sunshine a day, Cannes is an ideal holiday destination for both sightseeing and beach-lounging. Temperatures often reach a high of 27°C / 80°F during July and August. Despite this, cooling sea breezes make sure that the climate never feels overly stifling. In addition, many hotels and shops are air-conditioned. Autumn temperatures in Cannes generally feel quite pleasant, although there is a marked increase in rainfall and unsettled weather. October and November see the most significant rainfall during the year. Be prepared for strong 'Mistral' winds during the autumn, or indeed at any time of the year.
