Cannes Information and Tourism: Aerial marina pictureThere is so much more to Cannes than just its annual Film Festival, although the influence that this simply massive event has on the region is not to be underestimated. Each May, the Cannes Film Festival brings some of Hollywood's biggest stars to the city and even though it lasts just a couple of weeks, Cannes manages to bask in its glory long after.

However, outside of May, Cannes still manages to attract tourists in their droves, who come to this part of southern France to enjoy the endless sunshine and beautiful stretches of sand. Although some of the beaches in Cannes are private and solely for the use of hotel guests, many others are free of charge, such as the Plages du Midi and also the Plages de la Bocca, where water sports are plentiful.

The waterfront itself is edged by the lengthy Boulevard de La Croisette, while nearby, the historic character of the town remains clearly present within the 'Le Suquet' quarter, located on the western side of the Vieux Port. For tourism information, there are two main tourist offices in Cannes, at both the Palais des Festivals building on the Boulevard La Croisette, and also at the train station on the Boulevard d'Alsace.
